A Christmas Carol is a holiday novella written by Charles Dickens. The story was depicted through a storybook animation and several trivia games in the "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales" DVD game.
Basic overview[]
On Christmas Eve, three ghosts visit the cold-hearted miser Ebenezer Scrooge to show him the devastating effects of his selfish behavior towards the less fortunate.
Storybook Animation[]
Alone in his chamber, a frightened Ebenezer Scrooge receives a final visit from the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The ghost points at Scrooge with its skeleton hand, causing the miser to shiver in fear.
Shrek characters based on the story[]
- Ebenezer Scrooge
- The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (could presumably be Death)
Mentioned characters in the DVD game[]
- Jacob Marley
- The Ghost of Christmas Past
- Tiny Tim
- Fezziwig
Trivia[]
- The classic line from Tiny Tim, "God bless us, everyone." is quoted by Gingy at the end of Shrek. He's even seen holding a candy cane, alluding to Tim's crutch in the story.
- In Shrek the Halls, when Shrek kicks Donkey and the fairytale creatures out of his house, Donkey calls him "Ebenezer Shrek!" This is followed by Shrek saying "And a Ba-Humbug to you too!"
- Death has been theorized to possibly be the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, as, like with Puss in Boots, he scared Ebenezer into appreciating life and realizing his selfish ways.
