Athena is a character who briefly appeared in the "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales" DVD game. She originates from Greek mythology and is the goddess of war and handicraft.

In one of the storybook animations, Athena is among three goddesses who are being judged by Paris of Troy. After Aphrodite sways him with her beautiful lashes, he gives her the Golden Apple of Eris. In a fit of jealousy, Athena and Hera both whisper to one another, gossiping about the event.
Another mention of Athena was in the Myth of Perseus and Medusa. She had aided Perseus in his journey by bestowing him one of her powerful shields. With its reflective abilities, he was able to behead Medusa without making direct eye contact with her.
She also played a supportive role in the Myth of Odysseus, being one of the few deities to actively help him on his adventure back home.
