Baby Bear

Baby Bear, also called Baby, is a member of the Three Bears Crime Family. He is the son of Papa Bear and Mama Bear, and the adoptive brother of Goldilocks. All the Three Bears help Goldilocks in her campaign to grant her the Last Wish, thus coming into competition with Puss in Boots and "Big" Jack Horner.

Appearance[]

Baby Bear is the smallest of the Three Bears, but is still quite big compared to humans. He is a young bear with brown fur with a subtle shade of gold, has blue eyes, a notch in his right ear, and wears a chain necklace with a golden doorknob, a fork, and a cog. When he was a cub, Baby Bear was much shorter in stature and didn't yet wear his necklace, though he had the visible notch in his ear even then.

Personality[]

Baby Bear has a clear sibling rivalry with his adoptive sister, though more than once he declared that she was not his sister and was just a "porridge-stealing orphan", indicating Baby was sore about Goldi invading their home and taking his things though it's possible he was jealous of Goldi being the "golden child" in their family, making him second fiddle next to her in their parents' eyes.

They argue very much like a brother and sister; however, in spite of them constantly butting heads, he typically, albeit begrudgingly, follows her lead and seemed to at least trust that she knew what she was doing, since she relies on Baby to track their quarry as he has the best sense of smell. When they're not arguing, Baby and Goldi actually get along very well, evident by how they spend time together and share fun moments with each other and their parents. His loyalty, however, is not blind, for unlike Mama and Papa, Baby could only put up with Goldi's bossiness and verbal abuse for so long before he angrily confronted her, demanding she tell them what she wanted to wish for and was worth dragging them through everything they'd been through and the dangers they'd been in.

Baby was shocked when Goldi admitted she wanted the wish to be with her real family, leaving Baby emotionally hurt. The fact that Baby (along with their parents) still chose to help Goldi get the wish proves that, in spite of their family drama, Baby cared deeply for Goldi, and she for him, when she passed up the wish to save him, and they reconciled once the adventure was over, and Baby finally embraced Goldi truly as his sister and was pleased when she suggested he come up with their next big move: to take over "Big" Jack Horner's pastry factory in lieu of his demise.

Baby had a bragging side in that he often bragged to those he and his family robbed that they'd been "crimed" by the Three Bears Crime Family, and he has some pride in his sense of smell, stating "The nose never lies" to Goldi after they found Puss in Boots' "grave".

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish[]

The Three Bears first appears when they and Goldilocks go into Mama Luna's house for Puss. Goldilocks tells Mama Luna that she and the family got an offer for him, in which Mama Luna declined that Puss is here. Goldilocks then had Papa Bear and Mama Bear interrogate her, which ended up having her fainted. She then orders Baby to search for Puss by using his smell, while she and Mama search for Puss as Papa Bear torments Mama Luna while playing her piano. Baby then informs Goldilocks and his parents that he found Puss, in which he shows them his "grave" (where Puss actually buried his hat, belt, cape, and boots). Unbeknownst to them, Puss is alive and eavsedrops on them talking about stealing the Map to the Wishing Star from "Big" Jack Horner and how they have only one opportuntiy to steal it, and they'd hoped to hire Puss to help them. As they leave, Baby tries to insist he's got a plan but Goldi and their parents don't take him seriously.

The Three Bears, along with Goldilocks then infiltrate "Big" Jack Horner's collection in which they spot Puss and Kitty as well as Jack Horner. As Goldi and the Bears chase Puss and Kitty, the Bears attempt to come after him in which Puss uses a stick on Baby and Mama, as he attempts to do the same with Papa, only to be knocked out of the air as he breaks out of the window with Kitty as the two them hop on in a carriage with Perrito.

The Bears and Goldi then go on a journey to the Wishing Star, Baby following the scent of Puss, Kitty, and Perrito into the Dark Forest. As they begin to catch up to the cats and dog, "Big" Jack Horner comes up behind them and then knocks them off the road, sending the Bears and Goldi falling down a steep hill while Mama holds the latter to cushion her fall.

After picking themselves up and continuing on, they discuss how Goldi will make a wish that makes everything "just right" and how they hope to get their individual desires. Though only Mama is curious as to what sort of wish could give them all what they each want, Goldi insists she can't tell the wish or else it won't come true.

Later, when "Big" Jack Horner has taken Perrito hostage, The Bears and Goldi then threaten him by using one of his henchmen. After Baby notices Puss and Kitty have the map, the Bears and Goldi then go in battle to retrieve the Map while the Baker's Dozen try to kill Puss and his friends.

After getting the map to the Wishing Star, the Bears and Goldi then celebrate as they travel to the Wishing Star, following the path made for Goldi, that takes them to "Nostalgic Pines". There, they find a cabin exactly like their own, which they enter and relax, ignoring Goldi as she tires to tell them that it's not real, just an obstacle made by the forest... when Goldi notices a book and opens it, revealing it's a library book she used to looked at as a child. She then notices an illusion of herself as a little girl, playing out the memory of when Goldi originally broke into the Three Bears' Cabin, which Mama Bear fondly remembers as the day Goldi also stole their hearts and became a part of their family, when "Their world became just right", which touches Goldi but also troubles her.

As Goldi and the Three Bears relax, Puss and Kitty sneak in, the former accidentally leaving one of his boots in Baby's honey, causing Goldilocks and Mama to notice the map is gone. As Goldi wakes up Baby and Papa, Puss then gets caught in which Goldi and the Bears then attempt to retrieve the Map. Puss and Kitty then battle the Bears as they each kick the porridge, in which they throw the hot porridge to Mama, cold porridge to Baby, and the warm porridge to Papa.

As Puss and Kitty escape with the map, Goldi and the Bears then kidnap Perrito. Kitty then goes to rescue Perrito while Puss finds a way in the Soul's Cave. Goldi and the Bears then make a booby-trap in order to get the Map back from the cats using Perrito as bait, a couple of minutes later Baby Bear and Goldilocks start a fight, which is amused and mocked by Perrito, Baby tells Perrito to stay out of the fight, which causes Perrito to laugh and insult the Three Bears and Goldilocks with profanity, which makes Mama Bear and Papa Bear laugh and admire Perrito, then Perrito tells Goldilocks that her family is funny and she being an orphan she won the lottery, which makes Goldilocks feel conflicted, when Mama Bear says that they should adopt Perrito since he's just like them, Kitty stealthily takes Perrito and replaces he with a fake statue of Perrito, which makes Baby Bear angry and takes the statue, but just as Goldilocks reminds Baby Bear about the trap it's too late as they fell for the trap, with Baby getting mobbed by the bees in their trap.

Later, while Puss in Boots arrives at the place where the Last Wish was, the Three Bears and Goldilocks unknowingly (since they were lost) were near the place where the Last Wish was. Having lost the scent, Baby Bear is unfairly scolded by Goldi, which finally breaks the camel's back when Baby, fed up with Goldilocks' abuse and insults, gets angry with Goldilocks, that he yells at her and demands to know what's her "just right", what's so important that Goldi got him and his parents involved and was worth "stranding them in this haunted forest". Cornered and upset, Goldilocks finally fesses up and admits that she wants to use the wish to get back together with her birth parents. This revelation breaks the hearts of the Three Bears, while Goldi halfheartedly defends herself by saying that she's not a bear and does not feel part of the family, to which Mama Bear says that if that wish is very important to her, if it's what will make her happy, they will get the Last Wish.

Then the Three Bears and Goldilocks join in the final fight. During the fight, Baby stops Jack Horner from attacking his mother, only to get knocked towards the wall of Star Fire, which then began to sweep him away. Mama and Papa immediately rush to save Baby but the Star Fire's hold is too strong and Baby was losing his grip on his mother's paw. At the same time, Goldilocks had the map of the Last Wish, giving her the chance to make her wish, but she quickly noticed that Baby Bear was in mortal danger. Despite a brief moment of hesitation and temptation, Goldilocks gave up the wish and saved Baby. After "Big" Jack Horner is knocked into the Magic Nanny Bag by Kitty, Death appears whistling his eerie tune, which is heard by Goldi and the Three Bears and they see him appear through the Star Fire, with Puss ominously stating "He's here for me". They then witness the epic battle of Puss in Boots and Death, concluding in Death giving up his pursuit of Puss after the cat proved he had changed. After Death takes his leave, Goldilocks and the Three Bears team up with Puss in Boots, Kitty and Perrito to defeat "Big" Jack Horner after he emerges from the bag having grown to giant size after eating the "Eat Me" cookie. Baby helped stop Jack by tossing Goldi, Puss and Kitty into the air, with Goldi likewise using her staff to toss the cats towards Jack and use their infamous "Spanish Splinter" on him to recover the map. Puss, Kitty, and Goldi then tore it to pieces, which resulted in the destruction of the Wishing Star and Jack perished by sinking into the Star as it collapsed into itself. The Star then exploded and Puss in Boots, Kitty, Perrito, Goldi and the Three Bears enjoyed the meteor shower together that results of the star's vanishing and spreading into the night sky as multiple smaller wishing stars.

After a moment, Baby tearfully thanked Goldi for saving him, touched that she did so and gave up the chance to find her real family though she comforts him with a playful tease, asking whose porridge she'd eat otherwise. Mama Bear apologized to Goldi for being unable to get her the wish, but Goldi, finally realizing what she'd missed and that she'd had her wish all along, assured the Bears that everything was just right, embracing them truly as her family.

The Bears and Goldilocks take their leave, giving an amicable farewell to Puss in Boots, Kitty and Perrito, with whom Goldi shares a mutual wink when she acknowledges she won the orphan lottery (as Perrito had stated to her earlier). As they walk off into the moonlight, they wonder what they should do next, with Goldi suggests that Baby think of something, to his delight. Baby proposes that they can take over Jack Horner's pastry business since Jack is no longer in the picture, to which Goldilocks comments that it is a good idea. Upon hearing what the bears were planning, the Talking Cricket hops onto Baby's nose and tells them says it's a good idea and that he can be his business partner, although Baby Bear freaks out at the "talking cockroach" on his nose. Goldilocks tries to hit the Talking Cricket, but only hits her brother in the face, much to his chagrin, as Goldi and the Three Bears walk off into the moonlight.
