writer's note: This was an idea originally intended to showcase the existence of Stromboli (a character seen in Shrek the Third) and combine that with elements from the Pinocchio novel. While I believe references to the 1940 film definitely exist, there's nothing that supports the entire backstory of the wooden puppet is exactly like the Disney movie. Thus characters like the Blue Fairy and Jiminy Cricket aren't in my interpetations of how the story happened in the Shrek universe-- since the former never made an appearance (replaced by her novel counterpart who's not a Fairy Godmother) and the latter was only a joke in Scared Shrekless. Although, since the "Puppet Master" is supposed to be Stromboli (like the Disney movie), he technically shoul…Read more >
Hello again! It's been pretty barren here lately (which I don't personally mind; I kinda like it actually :)), but I thought I'd create a reference for those who are curious about the lore of the movies. More specifically, aspects of Shrek the Musical that cause the entire thing to be considered non-canon to the main series. I understand that some people (for some strange reason) consider some parts of it canon, but one can't deny some glaring flaws that cause the whole thing to be deemed unwatchable.
With that out of the way, here's the list!
- Shrek's parents have not been shown to feel bad for their son once letting him move out. Of course this happened in the book, but he was so ugly that even they didn't want anything to do with him. Thus…
Since @WilsonHydetheThird has this story listed on one of his blogs, I thought I would try to come up with my own version of how it went down in Shrek. Anyway, here goes:
Once upon a time, on a Friday in the Kingdom of Scotland, three wicked Fairy Godmothers (called the Weird Sisters) were ending their meeting. One of them asked the other 2 whether they should meet “in thunder, lightning or in rain.” Another one said to meet “when the battle’s lost and won.” The Third said to meet with a soldier named Lord Macbeth.
Later, Lord Macbeth, Lord of Glamis, had played his part in the battle against the Normandys and was walking home with his best friend, Banquo, when they met up with the fairy godmothers, who told him he would be Lord of Cawdor, t…Read more >
Once upon a time, there was a half-ogre King called Stefan and a human Queen called Briar Rose, who desperately wanted a child. Eventually, they got a daughter, called Princess Alexandra. They invited 3 good fairies, called Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, to the christening.
“I give you the gift of beauty,” said Flora.
“I give you the gift of never being blue,” said Merryweather.
“I give you the gift of....,” began Fauna, but the door burst open. It was Carabosse.
“I see you haven’t invited me AGAIN!” She shrieked, “Never mind, I shall do to your daughter what I did to Briar Rose. I curse little Alexandra to prick her finger on a spindle on her 15th birthday and DIE!”
“Carabosse,” said King Stefan, “I promise you will fail, just like you failed …Read more >
“My Lady!” said the Captain of the Guards, “We’ve found it!”
“Well then what are you waiting for?” said Farquaad, “Bring it in!”
It was the Magic Mirror.
“Mirror, Mirror on the wall,” said Farquaad, “Is this not the most perfect queendom of them all?”
“Well,” The Mirror said nervously, “technically you’re not a Queen.”
Thelonious held up a hand-held Mirror and shattered it.
“Well,” The Mirror blabbered, “you’re not a Queen YET, but you can become one. All you have to do is marry a Prince. So just sit back and relax my lady, because it’s time for you to meet today’s eligible bachelors. And here they are:

Once upon a time, in the Kingdom of Poulton (not to be confused with the British town of the same name), there was a Princess named Yasmine Bearki. Yasmine wasn’t your stereotypical princess. She was bored with the Princess life and her parents, the King and Queen, wanted her to marry Prince Manfred of the Ice Age Kingdom. Soon it got so u bearable that Yasmine left. She accidentally bumped into a dwarf with a grumpy face, but when they stared eye to eye, they both smiled at one another. They were in love. Yasmine took the dwarf, who was appropriately named Grumpy, to her parents.
“Yasmine!” said the King, “How could you think we would let you marry a commoner? Such people are inferior!
“That’s not true, Daddy!” said Yasmine, “I WILL marry G…Read more >
So I haven't done any of these in a long while... A list of wanted criminals! This time I'm going to be naming characters that could run wild in the kingdom of Far Far Away. I honesty felt like I did what I could do for Duloc, which to be honest wouldn't have enough to sustain a larger lineup. However this kingdom has a much larger environment, which even expands to the outskirts and neighboring civilizations. Keep in mind as well this is just made for fun, and I don't endorse anybody taking this seriously and making faulty edits from my influence. Anyway, here's my list!
- Rumpelstiltskin (for illegal dealmaking, attempts to exile the king and queen, and spinning a yarn without a license)
- Georgie Porgie (for kissing girls and making them cry) …
writer's note: This depiction of King Kong is in no way related to any of the original films. As such, the main plot of the 1933 classic will be ignored (as it doesn't fit the lore of Shrek), instead going for an original take. However references and story beats will be featured. It just seemed like a fun idea to try and throw this character into the Shrek universe. Anyway, I present, "Skull Island".
Months of sea travel had gone-- Captain Hook and his crew needed to rest during their long voyage. It was quite inconvenient, as they were far from any nearby islands to truly relax. Nothing except large oceans illuminated by both the sun and moon for countless days. At this rate, the treasure Hook was seeking didn't appear to be worthwhile. H…Read more >

writer's note: This is an original story, not based on any existing fairy tale. Only a work meant to showcase a "romance" taking place in the city of Duloc. Neither Amber nor Wilson are based on anybody (even if the latter is my username); I'm only using my name as this character because it sounded pretty good for a character. With that out of the way, here's "Amber".
Working in Duloc
After the death of the city-state's founder, Walter Duloc, workspace became barron. So many of its cast members were layed off, with most of them being forced to create new stories to please the masses. As a result, many establishments and sponsors were deserted, leaving Duloc in a state of disrepair. Thankfully, this dark age only lasted for a couple of years,…

Suddenly, with a burst of blue magic, a Male fairy appeared. He had ginger hair and brown eyes.
“Who are you?” Asked Emma.
“I am Fortuna. Bib Fortuna. I’m not really a fairy, I’m a wizard posing as a fairy. I heard you’re in love with the son of the local King?”
“Yes,” said Emma tearfully, “But I’m a frog and he’s a human.”

“Well, then, no one forced him to do that!” Screeched Charming.
“Let me explain who your mother is,” I answered patiently and quietly, “She was a power-hungry sorceress who used you to get the title of Wicked Queen Mother. She didn’t truly care for you.”
Charming stared at me dumbfounded. He had never heard that side before.

Inspired by @WilsonHydetheThird’s character of Miser Walter Duloc (the ruler of Duloc Before Farquaad), I decided to do my own version of who ruled Duloc in the rest of the Shrek series before Scared Shrekless. And that would be Walter Duloc’s distant relative, Queen Melissa Duloc (based on Melissa Disney, Walt Disney’s distant relative) She became Queen of Duloc shortly after Farquaad’s death. She would have had to die somehow to make Duloc the ghost town it is in Scared Shrekless. I may go into this another day.
During college at Easter 2013, we were asked to do our own websites and I did a website about my own version of Duloc called the Kingdom of Haunted and a version of Britain’s Got Talent called Haunted’s Got Talent. The princess of the kingdom is called Princess Peachie Ruth Angel, she was born a dragon and it’s also based on James Bond. I even created a parody of the titular character of James Bond, called James BOYD, who I also portrayed.Read more >
