    Farquaad’s Parents

    February 2, 2019 by Beverlyjones

Since @WilsonHydethe Third doesn’t think that Pea and Grumpy being Lord Farquaad’s parents is canon to the film series, I decided to come up with my own idea for Farquaad’s parents. And here’s the little story I came up for them:

Lady Yasmine Farquaad was born in the noble Farquaad family and she married a man called Greg Luck. He wanted the title of Lord Luck because Lady Luck was his favourite personification, but the Duloc rules wouldn’t allow it. They had a son named Maximus (who would later grow up to be Lord Farquaad), but 1 day, an evil witch (probably the Witch banished to Shrek's swamp) broke into the Duloc Castle and killed them with dark magic, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MAXIMUS! This led him 2 hate fairy Tale Creatures from then on.

Hello all! So I wanted to do a follow-up on my attempt to improve smaller aspects of Shrek the Third, but the last few blogs have just been me trying to fit other characters into the main series. I've actually been longing to do a different type of post for a while now, so this might actually help bring back some of my old ambitions. Those ambitions involving me attempting to fix most, if not, all pieces of Shrek media (including some of the games). For this one in particular, I will be taking a look at Shrek Forever After, which I used to enjoy watching quite a bit. However, times have changed and my opinions have dwindled a bit, now leaving me to feel a bit disturbed by how little it does for the franchise.

    In general, nothing is entirely…

    Quasimodo + Luna

    January 27, 2019 by WilsonHydetheThird

Normally I attempt to stay away from doing fanfiction-esque stuff like this. In fact, the idea of shipping in fiction kind of puts me in a hurl. However I couldn't stop myself from seeing a great potential spark between these two video game exclusive characters; both appearing only in Shrek Super Slam. The individuals in question are Quasimodo and Luna. I know it seems like a weird pairing, but there's more that they seem to have in common besides their involvement in the series. For starters, the two are the only playable characters in Super Slam of Gothic inspiration. Quasimodo originating from a Gothic story (Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and Luna sporting the look of a standard Goth girl. It's not even just from their desig…

I’ve imagined Dama Fortuna as them as well because Fortuna has similarities with Ursula and there’s a theory that says she’s Carabosse. I’ve also called Sleeping Beauty Belle on the Carabosse Poster because in French, she’s called La BELLE au bois dormant and some people think she looks like Disney’s Belle in her green dress. Also, if u want 2 know who Princess Mayblossom is, check out my blog about princess dolls.

Before resorting to Rumpelstiltskin, King Harold and Queen Lillian resorted to a number of magic-users to end Fiona’s curse. The last 4 were the Weird Sisters (The Fairy Godmothers, not the witches from Macbeth) and me.

“We’ll try our best,” said Flora.

They put their wands together and screamed “The curse shall be NO MORRREEEE!” However, that didn’t work.

    Then, it was my turn.

“I may have powerful magic, but I’m not sure if I have the power to manipulate another magic-user’s curse,” I said, “but I’ll try.”

I pointed my wand in the sky and screeched “Let the curse be NO MORRRREEEEE!”

    However, that didn’ work either.

So the King and Queen had to go to Rumpelstiltskin.

We had found a barn to stay in for the night. Donkey tried to comfort Shrek about the day, but to no success. Suddenly he felt woozy and fell to the floor. Puss suggested about shaving him. Shrek then felt woozy and fell to the floor. The same happened to Fiona back at the castle. Shrek turned into a human and Donkey turned into a human. Suddenly I felt an attraction to Donkey since I have been in love with animated horses for some time now. I made love with him and magically created a baby in him.

He didn’t feel anything the next day, but knew something was up.

When the clock stroke midnight, he quickly kissed Dragon and stayed a horse. Then was the time for the baby I created to come out.

“What is it?” Shrek asked, horrified.

    “Doesn’t matter…

I got this idea from the Shrek WMG theory that Duloc was the Evil Queen’s kingdom and the debunking it saying that it’s more likely Lord Farquaad kicked her out with the rest. Not too long ago (being a couple of months), I composed a theory talking about the possibility of darker literary characters existing in the Shrek universe. If you still haven't read it, go search through my blog list and find "Greater Evil in Shrek Universe?". It's not that great, but it focuses on some details about the series that strongly hints at the inclusion of these horror characters. For this blog, I'll be trying to place certain characters in various locations in the series, from Far Far Away to Shrek's very own swamp (I'm getting extremely tired of constantly bringing up a variety of characters with only the princes and princesses getting acknowledged). A few of them however I'll bring up how they could possibly connect with oth…

@WilsonHydetheThird, since one of ur fairytale creatures is the Prince from the Prince and the Pauper, I will tell u about the PRINCESS and the Pauper and Kingdom of the Sun.

The Princess and the Pauper is a gender-flipped version of said fairy-Tale. It has 3 versions: 2 of them being Barbie films and one of them being an episode of the show Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales For Every Child. 1 of the Barbie versions is called The Princess and the Popstar,

Kingdom of the Sun was the original Emperor’s New Groove. It involved an emperor named Manco switching places with a peasant called Pacha bcoz they look alike.

Hello everyone! I know I haven't been completely active as of recently, mostly due to personal goals and endeavors, but I thought I would release at least one blog post this week to make up for my absence. Anyway, what I'll be posting tonight is a small idea about what other characters were on the eviction list in Duloc. I thought about this by thinking about characters who could've been living in or near the area, essentially making sure that it didn't interfere with any inconsistencies with the main continuity (and one of these evicted creatures is someone who is kind of a surprise from spin-off media that is sometimes considered canon). So no one from Far Far Away or beyond will be featured (i.e. Captain Hook, Rumpelstiltskin, Merlin, e…

OK, so as I said in my last blog, I like 2 think that Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother has 2 triplet sisters, one being Fairy Godmother and the other one being a neutral Godmother, as in not good or evil. She is a gray witch who does gray magic.

A gray witch is a witch who does magic to not benefit or harm others and gray magic is magic not created 4 any of those purposes.

I have yet to make up a name 4 her, so she has 2 make do with being called Miss Fortuna. If she was in the Musical, I think her crime would be for practising said magic, which would be unknown 2 everyone.

    The Fortuna sisters

    January 14, 2019 by Beverlyjones

OK, so apparently Fairy Godmother, aka Dama Fortuna, is the evil twin sister of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, possibly Fairy Godmother (Shrek the Musical), so when I got a Disney Princess magazine (I’m proud of being a male and collecting them) that had a Fairy Godmother cut-out, I photocopied it and made the photocopy up to be Dama Fortuna.

I also like 2 think they have ANOTHER sister, but she is neutral, as in not good or evil.

Time passed, Prince Charming Fortuna became a failure following his mother’s death and I had written the King and Queen’s story for Dama Fortuna’s library in the form of The Frog Prince.

Soon, the King fell ill and Shrek had to be a brief King consort for the time being. I became his advisor. It all went wrong however and we all witnessed his father-in-law’s death. After his death, Shrek and his 2 friends went to search for Fiona’s cousin, Arthur. I stayed, however. Fiona told Shrek she was painfully pregnant.

Long story short, Shrek found Artie, Charming tried to take over, we stopped him and turned his henchmen good, end of story.

We were back at Shrek’s swamp before we knew it. But Fiona, being a human now, felt like she couldn’t adapt. So…

Back in Year 6, in the 2006-2007 school year, me and my class did about Computerella. It is a modern day version of Cinderella (fairytale) and it’s about Cinderella’s granddaughter Computerella. I like to think she’s the daughter of Cinderella’s daughter Pamella.

Anyway, the story is about the Electronic Fairy Godmother helping her to go to the ball so she can fix the royal computer.

I thought of the Electronic Fairy Godmother being evicted to Shrek (character)’s Swamp in at least the Musical like Fairy Godmother (Shrek the Musical) and her crime being performing computer magic.

    Rose Red

    January 8, 2019 by Beverlyjones

OK, so you’re probably wondering from the title of this post: Who is Rose Red? She is one of the titular characters from the Brothers Grimm Tale Snow-White and Rose-Red. It is about two girls helping a cursed prince who is turned into a bear. And in case you’re wondering, this tale has nothing to do with the fairytale you guys are all familiar with. This is a totally different Snow White. Despite this, many writers combine the two tales. Let me give you a few examples:

    • Snow White: The Fairest of All: The Evil Queen turns the Prince into a bear.
    • Dark Parables: Snow White the Snow Queen (also based on the titular character from the Snow Queen) and Ross Red the Fire Prince.

Hello again! Over the weekend I drew a few more sketches of characters from Shrek, including a re-imagining of an existing character. I'd thought I'd show them off because even though they are just simple sketches, I like the way they turned out.

First up, we have Captain Hook, who is probably my favorite villain in the Shrek series. As someone who is a fan of the story of Peter Pan, it was always a joy to see him on screen, especially in Shrek the Third. While I may not be the biggest fan of that film, I'm not going to lie and say that Captain Hook was awesome. His design is definitely one of my favorite depictions of the character, as it doesn't fully support the stereotypical pirate outfits commonly associated with Hook. Now, in terms of…

A few months ago, I’ve been watching Shrek theories done by the YouTuber The Theorizer. If u don’t know who he is, he’s a YouTuber who does good theories and in his Shrek videos, he explains how Dama Fortuna plotted to be Queen Mother of Far Far Away since she was screwed by the Pendragon family. In his last Shrek video, which dealt with the AU in Shrek 4, he mentioned that Rumpelstiltskin may have been screwed by the Pendragon family as well, but never mentioned how, so here’s how I think it went down: Rumpel helped Lillian’s mother (the miller’s daughter) become royalty by spinning straw into gold (like in the fairytale) but when he came to collect the child (Lillian), the King banished him 2 the Crone’s Nest.

I’ve been thinking about Harry Potter being in the Shrek universe because there has been some debate over whether or not it is a fairy tale and I’ve heard that the first 2 Harry Potter books were written in the fairy tale genre. Wicked Queen Fiona

    January 3, 2019 by Beverlyjones

OK, so tonight, I’ve been doing stuff based on the phrase “Evil Queens are the princesses that were never saved,” and that’s when I started thinking: Why didn’t FIONA become an Evil Queen in the alternate universe in Shrek 4 coz no one saved her and she had to save herself (what the heck happened to Dama Fortuna and Prince Charming I haven’t a clue)?

So anyway, I think that as an Evil Queen, Fiona would get kill Rumpel (like how it’s theorised that the Evil Queen from Snow White killed the King) then get rid of ogres, like Rumpel did, since she’ll still be in the “ogres are bad” mindset and then when the people and ogres see her become an ogre at night, they’ll think of her as a hypocrite and plot to overthrow her.

One piece of evidence debunking this is that Shrek 1 came out 13 years b4 Maleficent, but does it really matter? Hello all! Welcome to the first installment of "Shrek Improvements", a blog sub-series where I examine the worst of the Shrek franchise with an attempt to "fix" any issues. For today, I'll be taking a look at the polarized Shrek the Third, and what I believe could've helped the film from being a mediocre inclusion to a great installment.

To put it simply, this film was certainly wasted potential. It seemed like it was trying to achieve what the first film did in an ambitious crossover of various fairy tale characters, but just barely hits the mark. Characters are introduced or given more depth, and some don't even get enough recognition despite gaining a more prominent role. The worst victims being the villains minus Prince Charming, and M…

Having watched all of the Shrek films religiously as a child, and clearly still holding a strong passion for the franchise (just look at my contritutions lol), I thought I might put my two cents on the past of the characters strictly based on the films, original book, and shorts. For this blog, I won't be covering the video games, spin-off books, comics, or stage musical (all of which I don't consider to be canon in the series). With that out of the way, let's begin!

Naturally, we'll start by talking about Shrek himself. In terms of his past, not much is really known, except for him recalling an event when his father tried to eat him. Other than that, we don't know how he grew up and found his swamp. It's assumed that like in the original b…

I love all 4 Shrek films and after reviewing YouTube comments, one thought came to my mind: What if King Harold was born a human?

    OK so here’s my theory:

Prince Harold was born a human who got turned into a frog by the Fairy Godmother, then she “helped” him with marrying Lillian and turning him human again. When they had Fiona, her turning into an ogre was really her turning half-frog as a side effect from Harold being turned into a frog, while in the day she spent in her true form. When the Godmother died, Harold became a permanent frog. His saying “I hoped you’d never see me like this,” means in his TRANSFORMED state.

Out of all of the Shrek movies, I believe that Shrek 2 showcases just how exapansive the universe can get. From the aspects of potion/spell making and pastry alchemy to the wide selection of new characters, this installment has everything a beloved franchise needs for dedicated world building. However, there's a part of the lore that I feel was empty in the Shrek series, and it wasn't until revisisting the second movie more recently when I found out a potential reasoning behind that. The void in question is the inclusion of the classic public domain novels. Not just the fairy tales collected by Brothers Grimm or other famous stories from the likes of J.M.
