Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales[]

In one of the storybook animations, Apollo is lurking around a tree. The camera pans out to reveal that the tree is a laurel with the face of Daphne. Excited, the god kneels down to proclaim his love, much to the annoyance of the former nymph.

Daphne is noted to have been struck by an arrow of Eros, the god of love, and had grown to resent anything to do with love. However, a local god named Apollo had fallen in love with the nymph despite her resentment. After many advancements from the god, Daphne had tragically transformed herself into a laurel tree to avoid anymore communication with him. Ironically, this would cause her to become Apollo's "sacred plant" and become his biggest inspiration.
