Farquaad interrogates Gingy
The Duloc Dungeon is an underground area of the Duloc Castle.
Features[]
The Dungeon is an underground room purposed to jail and torture prisoners of Lord Farquaad. In the middle of the room is an adjustable table with torture instruments hanging overhead. Shackles are attached to the walls, and various medieval torture devices like gibbets, the Iron Maiden, and Chair of Torture can be seen. Two Duloc Guards stand watch by the set of doors leading to the room.
Shrek[]
In the torture room, Thelonius tortures Gingy in order to make him give up the location of any fairytale creatures. Thelonius breaks off both of his legs and is in the middle of dunking him in a glass of milk when Farquaad enters to take over the interrogation. After crumbling one of Gingy's legs into dust and threatening to remove one of his gumdrop buttons, Farquaad gets him to start talking. Gingy implicates the Muffin Man and his wife, but the Captain of the Duloc Guards interrupts them to announce that they have finally found the Magic Mirror.
Farquaad has the the Captain bring the mirror into the dungeon and mount it on a hook on the wall. Gingy yells to the Magic Mirror not to give up any information about the fairytale creatures only for Farquaad to swat him into a trash bin. Lord Farquaad asks the Mirror if Duloc is the "most perfect kingdom of them all" to which the Magic Mirror informs him that he isn't technically a king. Farquaad threatens him by ordering Thelonius to smash a small mirror, causing the Mirror to correct himself by telling Farquaad that he can become a king if he marries a princess.
The Magic Mirror presents three eligible princesses for Farquaad to choose from; #1 Cinderella, #2 Snow White, and #3 Princess Fiona. The Captain and the guards shout out different numbers and Thelonious suggests #3 (though he holds up 2 fingers). Torn between his choices, Farquaad finally chooses bachelorette #3: Fiona. Farquaad believes she will make for a perfect queen, but the catch is that she is locked away in a dragon-guarded castle. The Magic Mirror tries to give Farquaad a warning about the princess but is silenced. Farquaad, determined to become the perfect king, orders the Captain to round up the finest knights of Duloc to compete in a tournament whose winner will be sent to rescue Fiona.
Shrek 4-D[]
The main pre-show interior is the torture chamber from the first film. Many of the torture devices seen in the movie are faithfully recreated in the show building, with some being named as "attractions" guests can ride. One particular "ride," the Crusher, is put on display for guests with a "45 minute" wait. In the dungeon are animatronic constraints containing Pinocchio and the Three Little Pigs. A giant screen with the "dungeon cam" is also displayed with two magic mirrors on opposite ends of the screen (or one mirror on the left in the original Florida pre-show).
A Duloc "Cast Member" ushers guests into the chamber, further elaborating on the location and its devices. They tell the guests that they are prisoners of Lord Farquaad, and being prepared for massive torture which will be overseen by the employee. After giving the general safety spiel, they will warn the guests that disobeying the rules will result in a "flogging," five days in the iron maiden, a fortnight in the brink, three days on the raft, and nonstop reality TV.
When the pre-show officially starts, the fairytale creatures wake up and alert the audiences to leave the dungeon while they can. Gingy makes a break for it while Pinocchio and the pigs remain trapped. In order to bring the guests up to speed, they summon the Magic Mirror to recall the events of the Shrek film. After replaying Lord Farquaad's death scene, his ghost suddenly appears to continue torturing the fairytale creatures.
He threatens to burn Pinocchio as firewood if he refused to tell them of Shrek and Fiona's whereabouts. After failing to get answers, he tries to get answers from the three pigs. If they don't abide, it will be "Luau Time" for them, which involves wrapping them in banana leaves and throwing them in a barbecue pit. Realizing that he won't get answers from the fairytale creatures, he persuades the audience to tell them where the newly weds are.
Because of the silence of the audience, he says he'll "make you talk!" He then orders Thelonious to open the auditorium where he will supposedly torture the guests into giving him answers. After performing his signature laugh, Farquaad flies into the camera, causing it to malfunction. The Magic Mirror then tells the audience the procedures before entering the theater. Once the audience is seated, they are never acknowledged again within the show's narrative.

Trivia[]
- According to the Shrek Essential Guide, the dungeons are "justly famous as the most hygienic in the land." This could be a dark joke loosely referencing how swift clean-up of blood is at the Disney parks- being applied to the tortured remains in the Duloc dungeons.
