Eulalie Hyacinth "Goody" Gumdrop

The "Goody" form of the Witch

Eulalie Hyacinth "Goody" Gumdrop, or The Old Witch, is a witch who lives in a gingerbread house in a forest. She is seen in the second issue of the Shrek Dark Horse comics and is based on the witch from "Hansel and Gretel".

Past[]

The Old Witch resided in the forest, waiting to feast of unsuspecting children. She tried to eat Hansel and Gretel, but they were too fat to fit into her oven. Because the children left trails of tofu leading to her gingerbread house, a flock of health food fanatics tracked them down. They saved the children and put them on a new exercise program to help them get back in shape-- much to the dismay of the witch.

After the events, the witch took the form of an elderly lady named Eulalie Hyacinth "Goody" Gumdrop, and made up a story to make victims sympathize with her. As the story goes, Goody's father built the house for him and his daughter to live in, but he didn't have enough money to afford safer materials. He was taken away, and the house had been left to rot away.

The witch's true form

Shrek and Donkey were on the run from the ghost of Lord Farquaad, and Goody let them retreat in her gingerbread house. She turned Vesuvius into a fly as an attempt to try and seem helpful to the duo. However, she begins feeding them a luxurious dinner, trying to fatten Shrek and Donkey to use them for a "Donkey-Ogre Stew." Getting carried away, the witch then unveiled her true form, scaring the duo away. She then catches up to them, and temporarily turns Donkey into a cat, while transforming Shrek into an elephant "forever." This turns out to be a dumb move, as Shrek uses his new abilities to spray water at the witch with his trunk, causing her to melt.
