"Fiona Gets Them Lost" is a scrapped scene from Shrek, presented by Cody Cameron. It was a padded continuation of what happened after Shrek removes his helmet.
Plot[]
After Shrek rescues Fiona, they have a heated altercation about Farquaad, which resulted in Fiona stomping her foot and falling into a mine. Fiona attempts to run away from Shrek and Donkey, but end up finding a mine cart. Despite Donkey‘s objections (for being just a tad bit too short), they get into the cart and go on a thrilling ride.
They first crash through dwarfs who are hard at work in a mine-- sending the little guys flying through the air. What soon entails are various theme park hijinks, filled with pirate rides, an animatronic snowman, and the Country Bears. The cart soon comes across a swirling track, causing Fiona to get extremely paranoid. When it comes to an end, Fiona begrudgingly agrees to go with Shrek.
Trivia[]
- The mine cart ride is similar to that of the one featured in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Although the exaggerated track layout is more reminiscent of the mine cart levels in Donkey Kong Country.
- Much like the deleted scene "The Deal", there are several slams against Disney, albeit not as harsh.
- The less obvious one is the mine being based on the one featured in the Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
- The talking pirate skull yelling "Dead men tell no tales" is a reference to the famous attraction, "Pirates of the Caribbean".
- The cheap animatronic snowman is referencing the same one from the "Matterhorn Bobsleds".
- The musical country bears are the same ones featured in "The Country Bear Jamboree".
