WikiShrek

Hercules is a character who briefly appeared in the "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales" DVD game. He originates from Greek mythology, where he was known as Heracles. However, his Roman name is what is commonly associated with the stories in Greece and most adaptations with the character. Regardless, he is one of the most celebrated mythological characters.

Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales[]

In one of the storybook animations, Hercules is wielding his sword while fighting both the Multi-Headed Hydra and the Three-Headed Cerberus. He slashes at the Hydra while trying to yank Cerberus off of his leg.

He is described to be a symbol of heroism and bravery in the game, with his Twelve Labors which involved encounters with various monsters and other figures of ancient myth. Despite his overpower, he was killed by the blood of the Hydra he slayed when it soaked on a piece of cloth. Before his legacy, he was also a member of Jason and the Argonauts.

In the "Twisted Twirl" game, one of King Harold's transformations is that of Hercules. He says several one-liners relating to the character's muscles or acts of heroism. Whichever line he has dictates whether the player will move up, stay where they are, or move back.

Trivia[]

  • In one of the trivia questions, Donkey says the classic line "Hercules! Hercules! Hercules!" from The Nutty Professor. This is an obvious nod to Eddie Murphy, who portrayed most of the main characters in the 1996 remake.
  • One of the real life "Pillars of Hercules," Gibraltar, was going to be featured in Puss in Boots: Nine Lives & Forty Thieves.
