The Mad Hatter is a character in Shrek the Musical. He is based on the character from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
Shrek the Musical[]
He is seen as with the fairy tale characters being evicted from Duloc by Lord Farquaad. In the number, "Story of My Life," he mentions that the guards "ridiculed his hat." He is later seen singing "Freak Flag" with the others. In one of the lyrics, he states that he smells like sauerkraut. He is later seen at Shrek and Fiona’s wedding.

- Originally, a gnome was featured in the musical. But once the show hit Broadway, the Hatter took his place and would remain in all future productions.
- He is played by David F.M Vaughn in the Broadway production.
