The Magic Wand is an object that was introduced in Shrek 2. It was used only by Fairy Godmother to bring both joy and misery to various people. Mostly in the variety of royalty, or those wishing to be a part of it.

The wand was used by Fairy Godmother as her main source of spell making. Without it, she wouldn't be able to perform her magic for others. It has been shown to be powerful enough to not only change the forms of others, but even bring life to inanimate objects. More impressively, she could use the wand to summon creatures such as the puppy dog and Kyle. Later on, she would use the wand for more sinister actions, which included her attempt to kill Shrek. In a turn of events, Harold would deflect the bolt and strike Fairy Godmother, causing her to die. While only shown to kill her, the wand was clearly shown to house a much greater strength than simply creating magic. Due to her death, it is unknown what the wand could've been capable of in this field.

Scared Shrekless

During Donkey's story, Boots Motel, Prince Charming is seen holding the magic wand in his left hand (the other holding a knife). Charming uses the wand to finish off Puss, turning him into ashes. In order to keep himself alive, Puss claims he deflected the shot with his sword. Unfortunately he fell through a trap door once Donkey took control again.

"Big" Jack Horner's personal magic wand

Right after "Big" Jack Horner collects all his magical objects for his journey to the wishing star, he uses a magic wand to turn a pumpkin into a death tank. This is a different type of wand, as it has a different star shape at the tip or the wand possibly changed shape.

Powers

• Curses: The wand can cast really strong curses; King Harold's human form wasn't removed until she reversed the curse.
• Materialization spells: These spells can help temporarily change the looks of clothes.
• Attack spells: Simple attacks are seen as purple lightning bolts, which can harm the victims by turning them into different forms.
• Destruction spells: The Wand's darkest side is performing these spells-- Fairy Godmother death was caused by her own, reflected spell.
• Transformation spells: It can turn Harold human and Pinocchio into a real boy and back.

Trivia

• The Magic Wand has a design that is meant to emulate a plastic toy.
• Prince Charming being able to use the wand in "Scared Shrekless" shows that anyone can wield its power.
