Michael John "Mike" Myers (born May 25, 1963) is a Canadian actor, comedian, screenwriter, and film producer. He is the voice of Shrek in the Shrek franchise.

In 1985 (right after high school), Myers moved to England and co-founded an improv group called The Comedy Store Players. The next year, he participated in the Wide Awake Club. He spent a few years playing Wayne Campbell for different networks before working at Saturday Night Live until 1993. By this time, he had made two Wayne's World films (among other SNL films) and had married his long-time girlfriend Robin Ruzan (whom he divorced in late 2005).

From 1997 to 2000, he made three Austin Powers films, playing both the titular role and the main antagonist Dr. Evil. That June, Universal sued him for not playing SNL character Dieter in a feature film. After a countersue, an agreement was made in which Myers would play the Cat in the Hat in a film of the same name.

For the next decade, Myers' most notable role was voicing Shrek in the Shrek franchise.

  • Myers is Canadian, even though both of his parents are English.
  • Besides voicing the titular character, he voiced another character in the first movie. That being one of the Three Blind Mice.
  • He was once rumored to reprise his role as Shrek in the 2011 Puss in Boots film, but it was not true.
    • He was also once rumored to be replaced by John DiMaggio in the same film.
  • It is revealed as of January 2017, that Myers now resides in the United States in Tribeca, New York City.
