Nimble and Quick - Shrek Live

Nimble (left) and Quick (right)

Nimble and Quick were the hosts of the short-lived "Shrek Live!" at Universal Studios Hollywood. They are from Duloc and were supposedly being watched by the Duloc army. Nimble also plays a drum and Quick plays a plastic clarinet.

Role in the show[]

Nimble and Quick are local Dulocians who are performing a show in Shrek's swamp. They present the "officially licensed" version of the Story of Shrek from Lord Farquaad. The duo confess from the beginning that hey are being watched by Farquaad and his spies, and are anxious about the performance. However, they are able the audience engage through cue cards courtesy of Bob, and tell the story with select audience members. One would play Lord Farquaad and another would play Princess Fiona. In this retelling, Lord Farquaad has to save the lovely Princess Fiona from the "evil" ogre, Shrek. During the performance, Donkey enters to heckle the show with Nimble and Quick making fun of him as well. Later, Quick would take the role of Shrek, putting on fake ogre ears.

Once the show concludes, Shrek barges out of his outhouse and asks "Oh no! Now what are you people doing in my swamp?" Donkey tells Shrek about what is going on, and he proceeds to intimidate Nimble, Quick and Bob. However, before the three can make a break for it, the ogre promises to finish their show- except they are going to tell the "real story." In this new performance, Shrek plays himself with Donkey as the narrator. Quick takes the role of Lord Farquaad, and Nimble is cast as Princess Fiona. The latter casting is criticized by Donkey who calls him "one ugly princess." The story plays out similarly to the actual film, complete with an appearance from Dragon. Quick, as Farquaad, is dragged away by Dragon, and Nimble as Fiona catcalls to Shrek before chasing him. The play officially concludes, and the actors take a bow.
