Perseus is a character who briefly appeared in the "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales" DVD game. He originates from Greek myth and is one of the most well-known heroes.

In one of the storybook animations, Perseus is hiding from the wicked gorgon Medusa. Armed with his sword, he witnesses her turning a nearby rat into stone, causing him to get more anxious.
Various trivia questions reference his victory in slaying Medusa, as well as what followed. After being bestowed one of Athena's shields, he is able to make eye contact with Medusa without turning into stone. This helps him behead her, and escapes from the other gorgons with an invisibility hat and flying sandals. He would later use Medusa's head against various monsters and enemies.
