WikiShrek

Shrek Super Party is a party game released by Mass Media. It was first published for PlayStation 2 and X-Box consoles in late 2002, with a GameCube port releasing in summer 2003. The game is based on the first Shrek film.

Plot[]

The game follows the basic plot of the first film, except it's represented through a contest held by Magic Mirror. Each of the six playable characters (Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, Lord Farquaad, Thelonius, and Monsieur Hood) have their own respective "wishes" that they want to fulfill by winning a series of mini-games themed after scenes from the film.

  • Monsieur Hood swings on a vine and throws gold coins to his people.

Reception[]

The game received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics and fans. It is regarded as one of the worst Shrek video games, and one of the worst party games of all time.

Trivia[]

  • Chris Miller (voice of the Magic Mirror) is the only actor to provide a voice in the game.
  • The gameplay is blatantly copied from another party game, Pac-Man Fever. Both titles received highly negative reviews and are largely disliked by fans.
  • Various game mechanics and aesthetics were later re-used in the game Muppets Party Cruise. Unlike Shrek Super Party, it received favorable reviews from critics and is a favorite for Muppets fans.
