The Spanish Splinter is a combat tactic employed by Puss in Boots against opponents larger than himself. It consists of jamming the tip of his sword under the thumbnail of a foe.

Puss first used the maneuver when fighting the Sleeping Giant of Del Mar, causing it to cry out in pain.
Later, he and Kitty performed the Spanish splinter in tandem against "Big" Jack Horner during their fight at the Wishing Star.
