The Storybook Dragon is an illustrated character who appears in the Shrek storybook opening. The dragon lives in a castle and guards the Storybook Princess in a tower. The dragon successfully kills the many knights who attempt to rescue her until being slain by the princess' true love. This dragon is an illustrated depiction of Dragon, and is often used in subsequent spin-off material (such as games and theme park rides) for visual representation of the character.
