The Hydra - Shrek DVD Game

The Hydra as seen in "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales"

The Hydra is a character who briefly appeared in the "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales" DVD game. It originates from Greek mythology and is best associated with the labors of Heracles (or Hercules in Roman mythology).

Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales[]

In one of the storybook animations, Hercules is shown grabbing the neck of one of the Hydra's seven heads. He swings his sword to cut one of them off, but he misses as he is also distracted by Cerberus latching onto his leg.

It is mentioned as part of Hercules' twelve labors, and the eventual cause of the hero's death. This was because Hercules made contact with its blood after it perished, and is extremely lethal when touched. The blood soaked on a piece of cloth, which Hercules accidentally uses.

NEW SHREK[]

In the video, "Kiss Donkey Or A Monster | Would You Rather?" Shrek answers a question from Donkey asking, "Would you rather smooch a venomous six-headed Hydra, or get your best friend that Deluxe Magic Hands Massage Chair they've been mentioning for their birthday?" Irritated by the obvious implications of the question, Shrek bluntly states that he'd pick the Hydra, adding "with six heads, one of them is bound to be a good kisser."
