Tweedledum and Tweedledee are characters who appeared in Shrek the Musical. They are based on characters from the nursery rhyme of the same name. However, they were made popular in Lewis Carroll's famous sequel novel Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There.
Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales[]
Prior to the musical, the characters were mentioned in several of the game's nursery rhyme trivia questions. They were described to be man-children fighting over a baby rattle, only to be scared away by a giant crow.
Shrek the Musical[]
In the Broadway show, only Tweedledum was present without Tweedledee, where he was part of the fairy tale characters banished to Shrek's swamp from Duloc. He claimed to be "too off the wall" during "Story of My Life." Later, he sings "Freak Flag" and says both weird analogies and an inspiring solo. He later attends Shrek and Fiona's wedding.
In the West-End production, both Tweedledum and Tweedledee are present, wearing identical outfits. Unlike the Broadway version, they are only seen in the ensemble and don't have dedicated solos or lines of dialogue.
