Maleficent is Dragon’s former self and a wicked fairy. She was cursed by the Fairy Godmother to become a dragon to guard Fiona. Sometime after giving birth to the Dronkeys, she found the ability to turn back into a fairy and thus cursed Princess Mayblossom to be miserable for the next 20 years.
