The Wedding of Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws was a union set to take place between Puss and Kitty.
Background[]
Puss and Kitty had grown closer after their adventure with the magic beans, collaborating again to steal the The Trident. At some point, they agreed to marry.
The Wedding of Puss and Kitty[]
The wedding was to be held at the church of Santa Coloma. Kitty had worn a "beautiful, poofy wedding dress," a priest was ready to officiate, and guests were anticipating the event. However, fear of commitment caused him to abandon her at the altar. According to Puss, this was the first time he had ever felt fear.
The Aftermath[]
Puss deeply regretted his actions at Santa Coloma, particularly as he had hurt Kitty. When he reunited with her, she was also upset about his choice, constantly bringing it up to Puss on their adventure to the Wishing Star.
After suffering a panic attack brought on by Death's pursuit, Puss tells Perrito of his regrets, as the dog had naturally assumed "Santa Coloma" was the site of a failed heist. Kitty overheard Puss's confession. To save his pride (and perhaps to make a point about his priorities) she would then claim that she "didn't show up" because she couldn't compete with Puss' "one true love." (Puss's own life)
However, when they arrive at the star, Puss displays his cowardice to Kitty, who reveals that she wanted someone to trust with her wish. Angrily, she snaps that she still can't compete with his "one true love." He then decides to choose her over the wish.
Once the star is destroyed, the two reconcile and rekindle their relationship.
