The Wedding of Shrek and Princess Fiona is an event that took place in Shrek's swamp after the demise of Lord Farquaad.

Background[]

After Shrek rescued Fiona, she assumed he was her true love, encouraging him to take off his helmet. After much persuasion, Shrek removed his helmet, throwing off Fiona. She was confused and frustrated, saying that her rescuer was not supposed to be an ogre. However, throughout the journey to Duloc, the two fell in love and began to hesitate leaving one another. This led leading to their final night together, which was an excuse to stall for more time together. This ended in despair, as Shrek overhead Fiona saying "Who could ever love a beast so hideous and ugly," and thought she was referring to him. The next morning, Shrek brought Farquaad to Fiona and they went ahead with the wedding.

The Wedding of Fiona and Farquaad[]

At the initial wedding, Shrek interrupts the wedding and proclaims his love for Fiona. At that moment, the sun went down and Fiona turned into an ogre. Disgusted, Farquaad tried to have Shrek killed and Fiona back to her tower, but Dragon burst in and eats Farquaad. Shrek gives Fiona true love's kiss and she turns into an ogress permanently.

The Swamp Wedding[]

Shrek and Fiona were married in the swamp. All of the fairytale creatures and various Dulocians were in attendance. Even the Bishop from Duloc officiated the wedding. An onion was magically transformed into a carriage by a local fairy, who also turned the Three Blind Mice into horses and a carriage rider. A bouquet was thrown by Fiona, which was grabbed by Dragon, which cements her love with Donkey.

The After Party[]

As the ogres ride into the sunset, the attendees begin to throw a dance party. Donkey himself sings "I'm a Believer" as the various characters perform crazy dance moves. A Karaoke Party would follow, with the newly weds and their new friends and former enemies singing a medley of pop songs.
