Duloc Double Feature 1

The Ye Old Duloc Googolplex is a movie theater in Duloc. In the queue for Shrek 4-D, two posters advertise "Duloc Double Features" with parodical films starring Shrek characters.

Films "Coming Soon"[]

Liar Liar[]

A parody of the film, Liar Liar starring Jim Carrey. The top tagline reads, "Trust me," with the bottom under the release date reading, "Wood I lie to you?" Pinocchio is the star, along with the Three Bears, 5 of the 7 original dwarves, Lady Trixie as "the Mermaid," and Puss in Boots in a special appearance. The crew consisted of Geppetto as the director, the Goose with the Golden Eggs as producer, Jack Sprat as the casting agent, and Rapunzel as Pinocchio's hair stylist. The entire soundtrack was also done by the Billy Goats, with the music available on Gruff Records.

Claws[]

A parody of the film, Jaws. This features Lord Farquaad flying in the air about to be eaten by Dragon- mimicking the classic Jaws poster. It is a callback to the climax of Shrek, where Farquaad is devoured.

Duloc Double Feature 2

Donkey-Xote[]

A parody of the Spanish novel, Don Quixote and its musical adaptation, Man of La Mancha. The tagline reads, "The Feel Good Comedy of the Dark Ages." This features Shrek riding Donkey similarly to Sancho riding his donkey in the story. Shrek is also equipped with a lance and shield, much like Don Quixote himself. A windmill is in the background, along with Castle Duloc.

Thelonius 2: Judgement Proof[]

A parody of the film, Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The tagline reads, "Consider yourself warned." Thelonious is the star, seen on the poster holding a crossbow. One of his eyes also glows red, referencing the T-800's singular eye in many promotional posters for the Terminator franchise.

Trivia[]

  • Puss in Boots being namedropped in one of the posters could've been a potential teaser for Shrek 2.
  • This is the only piece of official media besides the original book where Shrek is seen riding Donkey.
  • Two of the mimicked films had dedicated Universal Studios attractions during Shrek 4-D's opening- Jaws the Ride and Terminator 2-3D: Battle Across Time.
    • While not having an attraction based on it, Liar Liar is also a Universal property.

  • A Shrek knock-off film released in 2007 would use the name Donkey Xote. The main character, Sancho's donkey, would bear an intentional resemblance to Donkey in an effort to deceive audiences into watching the film.
